Complaint has been filed against noted Indian cinema artist Nagarjuna Akkineni on the grounds of financial fraud related to the N Convention Center at the Madhapur police station in Hyderabad. Bhaskara Reddy filed a complaint on October 5, 2024. Bhaskara Reddy asserts that money was siphoned from the venue and lodged complaints to recover the money from Nagarjuna, who is to be returned to the government. According to Madhapur Circle Inspector Krishna Mohan, though they would go through the complaint after consulting lawyers, a case has not been filed in writing.
This protest is following the newly demolished N Convention Centre. In August, Nagarjuna argued that the property the center sits on is legally established Patta land. He said he never illegitimately occupied some piece of land since an allegation earlier to the Special Court under the Andhra Pradesh Land Grabbing (Prohibition) Act had dismissed claims that certain people or groups were supposed to have grabbed some of the lands surrounding Tummidikunta Lake.
Nagarjuna Response
Rebutting the situation, Nagarjuna took to X (formerly Twitter) “Dear all, fans and well-wishers, the news going about celebrities is sometime exaggeration and speculation for effect. I am here to clarify that the land on which N Convention has been constructed is Patta documented land. Not even an inch of land beyond that has been encroached upon.”.
He also condemned the demolition of the N Convention Hall, terming it “unlawful” in light of the current court orders pending. “I thought it fit to issue this statement to place on record certain facts for protecting my reputation,” he added.
Legal Complexities
Referring to the legal complexities on the issue, Nagarjuna cited the already prevailing order of stay on previous demolition notices. He claimed that the present demolition took place without any prior notice and that even false information had been given. “As a law-abiding citizen, if the Court had decided against me, I would have carried out the demolition myself,” Nagarjuna asserted.
The actor has stated that he will seek legal redress to redress what he feels were wrong actions of the authorities. He said, “We would be seeking appropriate relief from the Court in relation to the wrong actions carried out by the authorities.”
Regulation of the Demolition
Meanwhile, representatives of the Hyderabad Disaster Management and Asset Protection Agency, in conjunction with the local police, are there to monitor the demolitions that have been justified to be undertaken in the area as falling within the Full Tank Level or FTL zone. The Madhapur Deputy Commissioner of Police confirmed, “HYDRAA officials have begun demolishing the N Convention Hall this morning and we have mobilized police forces to do it peacefully.”
Conclusion
The complaint filed against the film star Nagarjuna at the N Convention Centre raises many important questions about land ownership, judicial process, and the expectations of public figures. The rest, of course, will be seen to unfold; therefore, we must follow Nagarjuna’s and other related authorities’ performances as the situation escalates.
